From Grief to Giving: The Inspiring Journey of a Bereaved Couple

In life’s most challenging moments, it’s often the kindness of others that helps us find hope amidst despair. Such is the story of Martin and Jane, a couple whose journey through loss has transformed into a beacon of support for other grieving families.

Their story begins with the arrival of their daughter, Francis Marie, who they spent 36 hours of uninterrupted time with thanks to the CuddleCot. In the depths of grief, Martin and Jane found solace in the precious moments they were able to spend with Francis, thanks to a CuddleCot provided by the hospital. This innovative device gently cooled Francis’s body, allowing her parents to create lasting memories, allow grandparents to visit, take photographs, change her diaper and spend invaluable time together as a family.

Moved by the profound impact of the CuddleCot on their own grieving process, Martin and Jane were inspired to turn their pain into purpose. They embarked on a mission to ensure that other bereaved families would have access to the same gift of time that they had received. With unwavering determination, the couple rallied their community and donated a CuddleCot to their local hospital.

Today, thanks to Martin and Jane’s selfless act of kindness, countless families have found comfort and solace in the embrace of a CuddleCot during their darkest hours. Francis’s legacy lives on in the lives she has touched and the time she has given others.

‘While You Were Apart’ Words from those who cared for your baby

There are some questions that bereaved parents carry quietly for years.

Bringing Thea home was so important to us.

We were recently contacted by Katie, mum to Seb and Thea-Dottie who wanted to share the importance of the CuddleCot to their family and how it enabled them to take precious Thea-Dottie home where she belonged. Not every family is given this opportunity, sometimes due to another family using a device and lack of availability, or simply a and heartbreakingly a lack of awareness.

No family should experience what we did

Ezra’s mum, Lianne shares their journey with grief, their bereavement care experiences, and why they are dedicated to advocating for better standards of compassionate bereavement care for families.
