CuddleCots Continue to Support Families in Incredible Birmingham Bereavement Care Centre

It’s been a year since Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity opened Woodland House, a dedicated pregnancy and baby loss centre for bereaved families.

Designed as a safe haven, Woodland House offers families privacy and comfort during an incredibly difficult time, allowing them to grieve away from the main hospital.

The Woodland House centre has provided immense support to families experiencing loss. We are especially grateful to The Luca Foundation and the dedicated healthcare professionals at Woodland House, who offer bereaved families the gift of time with their babies using CuddleCots in the Tranquil Rooms. These spaces provide families with the privacy, dignity, and time to care for their baby before saying their final goodbyes. 💜

‘While You Were Apart’ Words from those who cared for your baby

There are some questions that bereaved parents carry quietly for years.

Bringing Thea home was so important to us.

We were recently contacted by Katie, mum to Seb and Thea-Dottie who wanted to share the importance of the CuddleCot to their family and how it enabled them to take precious Thea-Dottie home where she belonged. Not every family is given this opportunity, sometimes due to another family using a device and lack of availability, or simply a and heartbreakingly a lack of awareness.

No family should experience what we did

Ezra’s mum, Lianne shares their journey with grief, their bereavement care experiences, and why they are dedicated to advocating for better standards of compassionate bereavement care for families.
