Couple donate CuddleCot to SSM Health
There are tragically an estimated 6,400 newborn deaths every day, and sadly not every family is given the choice to use a CuddleCot.
Regrettably not every hospital has a CuddleCot, and tragically if the one they have is in use, then another grieving family on the same ward will not get the chance to spend extra time with their baby.
48 years ago when Jim and Jennifer Mc Kelvie’s baby sadly died shortly after birth, the CuddleCot didn’t exist. When Jennifer heard what the CuddleCot could do for grieving families she knew she had to help.
The CuddleCot gives families the opportunity to spend precious time with their baby after they have died and make necessary arrangements rather than feeling rushed. Unlike a traditional cold cot, the CuddleCot allows parents to hold their baby in their arms without fear of affecting their babies condition.
