Angel’s Law SB 32 Officially Passed

June 1st, marked a transformative step forward in how the Louisiana state supports grieving families.

The Heidi Saint James team, joined Governor Jeff Landry for the ceremonial signing of SB 32.

Angel’s Law, establishes the Perinatal Bereavement Care Initiative within the Louisiana Department of Health.

This legislation ensures that hospitals have the resources, training, and critical equipment, like the CuddleCot perinatal cooling device, to provide families with the gift of time, dignity, and specialized care as they navigate heartbreak.

Our thanks to Heidi’s mom Jamie, Nurse Kristi, Senator McMath, the 118 co-authors, and every advocate and family who made this bill possible.

Bringing Thea home was so important to us.

We were recently contacted by Katie, mum to Seb and Thea-Dottie who wanted to share the importance of the CuddleCot to their family and how it enabled them to take precious Thea-Dottie home where she belonged. Not every family is given this opportunity, sometimes due to another family using a device and lack of availability, or simply a and heartbreakingly a lack of awareness.

No family should experience what we did

Ezra’s mum, Lianne shares their journey with grief, their bereavement care experiences, and why they are dedicated to advocating for better standards of compassionate bereavement care for families.
