A dad’s perspective on the importance of continued compassionate care and cooling

When the unthinkable happens, providing families with the opportunity to care for and hold their baby is invaluable. “In August 2019, our first baby was stillborn. It’s not an exaggeration when I tell you, being told your child no longer has a heartbeat is like a stab to the heart. The world goes dark, and you can almost see your entire future being erased from existence. 

When our beautiful daughter Billie came into this world, all we wanted was to hold her in our arms for eternity and never let her go. If we could stop time and live in room eleven of that hospital forever, we would. 

Which is why I am so very grateful that the hospital had a CuddleCot for Billie. The CuddleCot’s cooling system allowed my baby to stay how she was when she was born, a beautiful sleeping angel. 

Allowing us a precious few more days to keep her with us, allowing time for Billie’s Nana and Papa to meet her, and allowing time for us all to come to terms with saying goodbye to her, forever.

At the hardest moment in our life, the CuddleCot gave us the gift of time with our baby Billie. Time we will cherish, always.”
